Welcome to Sulu

From visiting the oldest mosque in the Philippines to diving into the charred coconut aromas of cuisine from the Muslim Filipino community, join us for our ongoing Sulu pop-up dinner series. Each dinner offers more than a meal—it’s an immersive dining experience with storytelling and films that bring the history of this region to life.

Filipino cuisine has been shaped by a blend of cultural influences, including Chinese, Spanish, Muslim, Mexican, American, Malay, Japanese, and Indian influences. At Istorya, we bring history to life through food and storytelling at our pop-up dinners.

As a pop-up restaurant based in Las Vegas, we serve Filipino dishes inspired by different historical periods. Join us on this culinary journey through time, where each menu reflects the flavors and stories of our archipelago.

Threads of Tradition: Yakan Weavers of Mindanao

Check out our documentary, which won Best Micro Film at the Las Vegas Filipino Short Film Festival! We’re truly honored to share the stories of the Yakan people, a Muslim Filipino group from the Sulu Archipelago. We’re excited to accompany this film, along with many others, for our current Sulu pop-up dinner series.

  • "Flavors were explosive and modern. Loved the stories behind the food. The chef came out and shared her vision: a taste of home comfort foods elevated and modernized. She knocked it out of the park!! Our whole party enjoyed every single dish on the menu!!"
